FAQ

Certificate of Insurance questions

What is an additional insured on a certificate of insurance?

An additional insured is a party — usually a general contractor, landlord, or venue — added to your policy by endorsement so they're protected for liability arising from your work. Most Florida contracts require it before you can start a job.

How fast can I get my COI?

For active Arace clients, self-serve certificates generate in minutes. If your contract requires specific language or endorsements we don't have on file, an agent reviews and issues it the same business day.

Is a certificate the same as coverage?

No — a COI is proof of an active policy, not the coverage itself. Additional-insured status and waivers of subrogation apply only when your policy carries the matching endorsement.

I don't have a policy yet — can I still get a certificate?

Not yet — you need bound coverage first. You can quote and bind eligible General Liability online in minutes, then generate certificates here.
